M2A has had a green public procurement policy in place since 2004, which is also when it joined Procura+. Actions implemented in Mulhouse include staff training, reduced consumption of water and other resources and products, improved waste-disposal, and more efficient use of office equipment.
Mulhouse is a member of the Green Public Procurers’ of Alsace Club, which operates as a network of local authorities and key government departments in the region. Members share experience through events and working groups, participate in training and disseminate information through the club in order to further promote green public procurement.
M2A focuses on European wood or exotic wood that have been certified. This means that wood is only sourced from sustainably managed forests and when the exploitation of forests brings direct benefits to local communities.
